Sexuality and Teens
Sexual attitudes and behaviors changed a great deal over the last half century, and today's teens have a great deal of information to comprehend and difficult decisions to make. Author Stephen Feinstein covers the complex and sometimes controversial topics of sexuality, contraception, abstinence, sex education, pregnancy and STDs in a way that will help readers understand and make informed choices.

Part of the Issues in Focus Today series, this book has a lot of useful information in it, without being preachy or judgmental. For instance, did you know you can get pregnant even if your sexual partner does not ejaculate in your vagina? Sometimes sperm come along with the first fluids out of the penis and can swim happily along to an egg, even if there is no penetration. Although I would have liked the book to address teenagers all the time rather than sometimes talking about them to teachers and parents, there are many talking points presented in a manner which would allow adults to discuss sexual behavior with the teens they know. The sections that do talk directly to teens present material in a friendly, open manner, which ought to put teens at ease. The descriptions of the various types of contraceptives is very informative. This book will be a good addition to anyone discussing sexuality with teens., Children's Literature
