All animals have babies, but how do different animals take care of their babies? What happens to the babies as they grow up? Beginning readers can get just the facts, while the accompanying text for more advanced readers gives more fun and fascinating information.

This new series introduces primary students to a variety of animals, but it is the photography that will wow young readers. The spreads contain dual-level text on one side with a small inset opposite a full-page color picture. Students engage first with the pictures, then the text. Young readers have three or four sentences related to the full-page picture. There is a contrasting-color box containing additional text for more fluent readers. The books include minimal vocabulary and a Learn More page providing books and websites for more information. Words to Know provides a dual-level vocabulary list.
