Glacier National Park is one of the more isolated national parks; however, it welcomes close to two million visitors every year. This text and its accompanying pictures make it easy to understand why. Going-to-the-Sun Road crosses the park from east to west and reaches more than 6,600 feet into the air, with breathtaking views of the barefaced mountains. The beautiful lakes and falls, and the interesting animals and plants found in the park, are described in detail. The history of the area is traced from its geological beginnings, to the habitation of the Blackfeet and rival tribes, to its life as a national park. The Americas National Parks series is a part of the imprint MyReportLinks.com Books, and this title is clearly geared toward report writing. Some information is repeated in several chapters and it reads more like a reference book than creative nonfiction. A glossary is provided in the back, but some marking of the defined words in the text itself would have been helpful. Many websites are included within the chapters, with screenshots and annotations describing content and value. These inclusions help make the text high interest, and MyReportLinks.com keeps this information updated on their website. The design of the book, modeling familiar computer images, may find itself outdated quickly., Children's Literature
